Have you thought about upping your flower growing game? Would you like to perfect your flower garden or try your hand at being a flower farmer? Have you taken an online class and are eager to get your hands dirty?
In the past few years we have had quite a few people come to work for us that had taken an online class on flower farming which gave them a wealth of quality information. BUT learning from the comfort of your couch and actually getting to do it are very different. Come out and give things you've learned a try while learning a host of new ideas.
In the morning we'll head out into the fields and learn all things picking and field bunching. What flowers to pick, which ones not to pick, which to deadhead to encourage continued blooms. We'll look at any any problems and how to treat them in the field. We'll also go over forming a plan for mixed bouquets and counting stems. Each participant will get to pick a bucket of flowers to work with in the afternoon.
Lunch will be from 12-1. Lunch is not provided but a long list of places to eat very near by will be provided or pack you lunch and store it in the cooler.
In the afternoon we'll practice whipping up mixed bouquets for market. We'll work in teams to achieve efficient work. We'll also go over different sleeves and wraps and why we love/hate different ones. After that we'll talk sales outlets and forming a plan to sell what you're growing.
